This is me, Mariah Soto!
 

I am a 16 year old Peruvian girl, who is currently taking AICE Media Studies. My interests include drawing, music, reading, piano, guitar, and singing. But most of the time when I have free time away from my job and school, I watch movies or shows in any genre. My favorite way to consume all this media is by streaming videos on platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney +. These platforms are easy and simple to use when I am either at home trying to relax or when I am on the go on a road trip trying to entertain myself. Additionally, I like to listen to music with music streaming services like Apple Music, or Spotify. I personally prefer Spotify because when I choose a song, it plays song that are similar to it and matches the vibes of it so I won't have to go back on my phone to pick another song.
   When currents events happen around the world I usually find about what has occurred while I am surfing social media platforms, like Instagram, TikTok, or Twitter. Most of the time, when I find out about what has occurred globally I do it on accident when I am trying to entertain myself on the app TikTok. Whenever that happens, I am grateful that the app TikTok has a variety of information that can be inputted on it. When I want to learn more about the event that has occurred, I just look it up on the search bar of the app and it always gives me all the information I will need to understand what is happening.

We chose the name of our title since our film is a traditional crime film with mystery elements about a detective that has been put on a murder case, which he is determined to solve, and the definition of "malfeasance" is an act that is illegal and causes physical or monetary harm to someone else, and is a synonym to the word crime. Research into Film Companies

  Blog #6:         The company that my group thought was the best fit for our film opening was the 20th Century Studios that is under the Disney company. We believed it was the best fit because our film opening's genre is a traditional crime film with elements of a myste ry film and the 20th Century Studios has made multiple crime films that have become successful like "The Woman in the Window". The film was a notable success at the box office and had a very positive average rating. The budget for the film was around $40 million and made positive rating which marked the last Hollywood film before they went under the Disney company.

Genre FIlm Script Analysis

  Blog #9: The genre that my group chose for our opening scene was a traditional crime genre with some mystery elements added to it. The movie that I picked is the same genre, a crime mystery film, that is called "The Godfather". Some elements the screenwriter established in the opening scene is the intensity of the situation establishing where the two characters are sitting and their body language in the scene. Bonasera is the one replaying the intense situation to Don and the screenwriter establishes the mise en scene by saying that Bonasera sitting at the front of Don's desk facing the camera and explaining that Don is sitting at the front of the desk petting a cat to show dominance over the conversation. At the end of the scene Bonasera calls Don "Godfather" which helps set the mood of the whole film by establishing how powerful Don is.
